22,5Х19,5. Late of the XVIII c., central part of Russia. In the state of fair preservation - rubbings, flaking. The icon was not restored. Saint Metrophany Peter I"s reforms follower is worshiped as a patron of Russian Fleet. Mitrophany was canonized in 1832, but rarely found icons, dated by the style to the earlier period demonstrate that the saint"s cult was strong long before the official canonization. This icon preserves the portraits traits of the saint and, possibly, is a one of the copies of the so called parsuna the earliest sample of Russian portraits painting early of the XVIII century. The item is distinguished by the beautiful cold colours and fastidious painting. The icon has a certain collector value.
