A Masonic sword in scabbard with a cover (Knight of the Temple lodge).

Blade length 74,0 sm, width at bolster 1,7 sm, length with hilt 91,7 sm, length in scabbard 95,0 sm. A steel, four-sided, double-edged blade. The blade all-length and both sides etched with foliage pattern. The owner"s name, lodge emblem and military trophies are in cartouches at the front side, at the inner side is a picture of a battle and military trophies. The gunsmith"s mark "THE HENDERSON AMES C KALAMAZOO MICH." is at the bolster. A grip formed by crossguard and straight hilt with a pommel. A guard made of a cast brass. The beams take the form of Masonic triangles chiseled with floral pattern. The hilt is wooden and straight covered with black lacquer with a fitting of a cross at the front side. A pommel made of a cast copper alloy as a knight helmet. Full metal scabbard, sypro-nickel with a fitting of copper alloy consisted of a mouth, two mounts and ferrule. The fitting incrusted with foliage, emblem of lodge and warrior figurine. An owner"s name is engraved amidst two mounts. A sewed leather cover has a brass plate with owner"s name at the clap. USA, late of the XIX - early of ХХ century. Insignificant corrosion of the scabbard. The cover needs restoration. Registered by the Ministry of Culture.
