Atlas Rossiysky, sostoyashchy iz devyatnadtsati spetsialnykh kart, predstavlyaiushchikh Vserossiyskuiu Imperiyu s pogranichnymi zemlyami, sochinenny po pravilam Geograficheskim i noveishim observatsiyam [The Atlas of Russia Consisting of Twelve Special Maps Representing the All-russian Empire and Neighbouring Territories Made according to Geographic Rules and Recent Observations], St Petersburg, Imperial Academy of Science, 1745.

On 13th September 1745 the Academy"s "Atlas of Russia" made under the direction of the outstanding mathematician L.Euler was completed. It was the first Russian national atlas to cover the whole Russian territory, the result of many recent geografic researches. Copper-engraved maps, place-names written within pictorial cartouches. Whole leather bindings with gilt border, lacking rear cover; all edges coloured. Owner"s inscription of 1881 on front endpaper. 52.5х31.5cm., satisfactory condition: missing map №4. The edition is of historical and cultural value. Rare.
