Cutlasses of this type were in use in the air forces of the German Democratic Republic. Blade length 25cm.; width at bolster 2.8сm.; length with handle 36cm., length in scabbard 39.8cm. Steel blade with narrow fullers. Marked "993" on bolster. Straight brass guard. Plastic handle, round brass pommel with the coat of arms of the German Democratic Republic. Blued all-metal scabbard with brass fittings and two carrying rings. Throat decorated with the coat of arms of the German Democratic Republic. Blue cloth belt with gold lace, gilt clasps.
