Medal For Turkish troops in the Bosphorus. 1833. Silver 14.20gr. In UNC condition.

Chepurnov№396. A total of 2,265 coins were issued. Very rare. In 1831 the ruler of Egypt Muhammed Ali occupied Syria and headed for Constantinople supported by England and France. In order to prevent England from occupying the Black Sea gulfs, Nicholas I sent landing troops and the Black Sea Squadron to come to the aid of Turkey. Turkish soldiers who participated in joint military action were awarded with the medal & sash of Order of St. Alexander Nevsky.
